The Clarkson College Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nurse Anesthesia option combines a strong anesthesia academic curriculum with extensive clinical practice providing individualized anesthesia care across the life span. In addition, the nurse anesthetist program's curriculum includes courses in leadership, health care policy and the evidence-based process to prepare tomorrow's CRNA to navigate the complexities of health care to improve patient outcomes. The full-time, front-loaded degree option consists of a 20-month didactic phase and 1-month clinical practicum emphasizing our College Values of Learning, Integrity, Caring, Excellence and Commitment. Upon completion, students will be able to demonstrate proficient skills in critical thinking, effective communication, professionalism, technology proficiency and caring for a diverse patient population. The goal of the nurse anesthetist program is to produce proficient, full-service, certified nurse anesthesia providers capable of independent practice.
